Dr. Abbed promised me if I fused my C 6/7, the pain in my hands would improve. Not only did my hands become worse after the surgery, the fusion failed. Dr. Abbed did not order any follow-up imaging after my surgery, even though I begged him to, instead I went to get 2nd opinions from other physicians and THEY ordered the imaging. When I took that imaging back to Dr.Abbed, he acknowledged the C 6/7 surgery he had performed had failed and would need to be torn apart and re-fused (although he never offered himself to fix his mistake). After my appointment with Dr. Abbed, he immediately stopped taking my phone calls, even while I was in excruciating pain, claiming I was now under the care of another surgeon, which was completely untrue. This man lacks honor, I plan to make as many complaints within the medical association as I can to ensure potential patients steer clear from this physician, he is a fraud and apparently a terrible surgeon.

I've had lumbar and cervical surgery with Dr. Abbed. He is very thorough and would never advise surgery if it isn't absolutely necessary. He takes the time to explain everything and answer questions, is very thoughtful and patient. I've referred other people to him and they were very relieved to get honest answers.

I am two months post-op after a laminectomy done by Dr Abbed, and am doing great! He was highly recommended by my physical therapist. I went to my consultation and told him that my previous back surgeon recommended a 4 level fusion. I thought that was overkill. He looked me in the eye, reviewed the scans and reports with me and explained why a one level laminectomy was all that was needed. He took his time and patiently answered my questions. I felt absolutely confident, in my bones, before I left that he would do a good job. I went into the surgery still feeling confident in him and his team. I left the hospital without the sciatic pain and drop foot that caused me so much pain for so long. He is that rare professional who is at the top of his field, continues to study, looks for ways to improve, and heals with a warm hug and a smile. Thank you Dr Abbed! I feel great!

DR. Abbed reviewed the existing images of the lower back area of my spine. He clearly explained what was causing the back pain and the pain going down my right leg. He explained how laminectomy surgery is performed, and how it would relieve the pain and improve function of my leg. I approved performing the surgical procedure with full confidence in his ability based on previously performed fusion surgery, by Dr. Abbed, on my neck.

We felt very confident after seeing Dr. Abbed about going ahead with my husband's surgery because of the time he took to tell us everything about what to expect for surgery and after surgery. He is very knowledgeable, and wonderful at explaining everything to his patients. He is also thorough in making sure he has all the necessary tests requested in order to review them.

Dr Abbed is amazing! The best feeling in the world is knowing that when you’re under anesthesia for a surgery you need that you are in the best hands possible.
